As an integral member of our healthcare team, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) assumes a pivotal role in delivering exceptional care and support to patients with complex medical needs within our hospital’s ICU. This position involves a comprehensive range of responsibilities, including the continuous monitoring of vital signs, administering emergency response care, and overseeing the meticulous maintenance of life support systems. The ICU RN operates on a 12hr shift schedule, providing coverage from 7.00 am to 7.30 pm or 7.00 pm to 7.30 am, ensuring around-the-clock attention to the critical needs of our patients. Job Requirements: Demonstrates commitment to principles of the patient care model and achieving the organization’s nursing vision and strategy. Complies with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, board of nursing requirements, patient safety requirements, infection control practices, and other established practice standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures. Utilizes aspects of the nursing process such as assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to coordinate outcome-focused patient care. Understands and incorporates holistic nursing theory. Establishes a caring, therapeutic relationship with patients and families through effective communication, acknowledgement of patient/family perceptions of health and illness and mutual goal setting for optimal outcomes. The ability to perform a range of task perform a range of tasks including (but not limited to) diagnostic tests, conducting follow-up visits, monitoring patient recovery, and responding to medical emergencies. Knowledge of the latest medical equipment and nursing techniques in order to operate, monitor, and maintain equipment utilized in the critical care setting such as ventilators, IABP, etc. Clean and redress surgical sites and other wounds Monitor the patient’s vital signs and recovery closely Maintain medical records and file required reports on each case Actively participates in the creation and operationalization of quality improvements to promote clinical quality, customer experience, nursing engagement, and care outcomes. Assumes an active role in the development and achievement of department goals. Undertake other responsibilities as needed/assigned. Able to work various hours as needed The ability to remain calm under pressure
