Position Highlights: Position: RN Nurse Transition Program - Progressive Critical Care Unit (High Acuity Step Down) mixed with ICU patient population Location: Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road, Elmhurst, Illinois Full Time: 36 hours/week Hours: 7am-7pm with every 3rd weekend and holiday track Required Travel: May float to other adult inpatient units as needed Orientation: Between 8-12 weeks, dependent on level of previous experience. Day Shift: All orientation is completed on day shift. Additional classroom instruction/online module completion at the discretion of the PCCU Educator. Night Shift: First 3-4 weeks orient on day shift, then transition to night shift. Additional classroom instruction/online module completion at the discretion of the PCCU Educator. Job Summary: The staff nurse has the primary responsibility and accountability for the total nursing care of the patients as identified by the Standards of Nursing Practice and the Illinois State Nurse Practice Act. The Progressive Critical Care RN Transition Program is designed for RNs with current BLS certification and a minimum of 1-year inpatient nursing experience who are interested in the progressive critical care department at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
