As an ICU SWAT RN you will collaborate with multiple departments to help in declining situations like rapid response/code blue and mentor when appropriate. Being assertive, having strong assessment and critical thinking skills, which will be used in urgent patient care situations to prevent negative outcomes. Ideally, this RN would have passion for teaching and leading situations as a role model for others to follow. The SWAT RN will monitor interventions and follow up to ensure their success after answering clinical inquires and helping to guide care. In this role, you will proactively round throughout the shift to identify and facilitate early intervention on high-risk patients thus helping to decrease negative outcomes including mortality. The ICU SWAT role is utilized appropriately as a highly respected expert clinical resource here at Del Webb hospital, and having the right person for the role is essential to our supportive culture. Looking for a highly engaged & clinically strong SWAT nurse who can perform in a manner that leads by example in support of Banner’s mission to become an HRO. The ideal candidate will have critical care expertise and or emergency experience and be willing to cross train to ICU. It will be an expectation to maintain competency and commit to lifelong learning, bringing only the best practice expertise to patients. In this fast-paced yet fun role the team will provide 24/7 consistent coverage transferring full accountability to the next SWAT on duty. This is a full-time (36hr) day shift position, with rotating weekends. Enjoy a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential. SWAT RNs also receive $3/hr. float pay, in addition to base pay! Requirements

  • Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
  • Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job.
  • Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired.
  • Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations.
  • Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area.
  • Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or an acute care setting.
  • In a Home Health setting, team members must be able to operate personal vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Auto insurance coverage is also required to be active and maintained.
  • Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, and BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
  • An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire.
  • Employees working for Banner Home Care AZ must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
  • Employees working in the Banner McKee Senior Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit must possess an Colorado Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
  • Employees working in any Banner Staffing (BSS) Behavioral Health role in Arizona must possess a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs.
  • Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input.
  • Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team.
  • Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed.
  • Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record.
  • Provides care based on the best evidence available and may participate in research activities within clinical practice.
  • Contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care.
  • In some roles, this position may supervise staff and work flow of the department.
  • Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient.
