About The Position

The position is for a part-time Registered Nurse in the Orthopedic Clinic at Arkansas Children's, requiring 24 hours per week. The role involves providing basic professional nursing care that is safe and effective, focusing on the patient and family. The nurse will demonstrate appropriate assessment, planning, evaluation, and implementation of patient care within the guidelines of nursing standards.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license - Arkansas or Compact State.
• 6 months of experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a novice level of understanding and application of the AC Model of Patient and Family-Centered care.
• Consistently provides safe and effective nursing care at a novice level in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge and skills to assess patients and provide developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive care.
• Uses patient information to identify basic patient/family needs and desired outcomes.
• Provides individualized patient and family education at novice levels.
• Implements evidence-based nursing practice using best available evidence.
• Recognizes and supports the AC Professional Practice Model.
• Participates in interdisciplinary shared decision making activities.
• Participates in the improvement of patient care, nursing practice, and the work environment.
• Accountable for the quality of patient care by advocating for patients and families.
• Participates in councils, committees, taskforces, and hospital initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
