About The Position

The RN I New Graduate position in the Emergency Room (ER) at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital is designed for newly graduated registered nurses who are eager to begin their careers in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. This full-time night shift role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in the ER, utilizing critical thinking and clinical skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Requirements

• Current California Registered Nurse License (maintained at all times).
• 1-2 years of ER experience.
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (maintained at all times).
• Current American Heart Association ACLS Certification (maintained at all times).
• Current American Heart Association PALS Certification (maintained at all times).
• Current NIHSS Certificate.
• Successful completion of EKG Test.
• Basic Computer Skills.

Nice To Haves

• MICN certification (preferred).
• ED Triage Course completion.
• ENPC and TNCC certifications (within 12 months of hire).
• PHTLS certification (within six months of obtaining MICN Certification).
• CEN Certification within 18 months of hire (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assume principal responsibility for total nursing care of Emergency Department patients.
• Conduct assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Anticipate professional responsibilities and accept accountability for actions.
• Utilize critical thinking skills in triage and care for all types of Emergency Department patients.
• Oversee RN I's, ED Tech's, and CNA's in the department.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, co-workers, and physicians.
• Participate in departmental Performance Improvement activities.
