The Staff Nurse (RN) position at UTHealth Houston Sienna Multispecialty Clinic involves providing comprehensive care to a diverse patient population, including pediatrics and adults. The role requires proficiency in head-to-toe assessments, triage, and IV skills, while also being flexible to assist in various areas of the clinic. The RN will work as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team, ensuring quality patient care and effective communication with healthcare professionals.

  • Perform responsibilities in a manner that promotes quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction.
  • Adhere to the broad scope of practice as established by the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of the clinic or unit by proper scheduling and planning for optimum use of staff and resources, maintenance of stock and supplies, and efficient and safe use of equipment.
  • Use a systematic approach to provide nursing care to patients and families/populations by performing both focused and comprehensive assessments through subjective and evidence-based objective data.
  • Prioritize, synthesize, and document assessments and nursing plan of care using critical thinking and judgment.
  • Implement the plan of care within scope of practice through assignment and monitoring of other nurses and delegation and monitoring of unlicensed staff.
  • Develop and implement teaching plans for patients concerning maintenance, promotion, and restoration of health.
  • Evaluate patients' response and outcomes to education and therapeutic interventions, communicating effectively with the collaborative team.
  • Exercise judgment while coordinating care and referring patients to agencies or healthcare professionals for other services/transitions in care where indicated.
  • Perform on-site and telephone triage using best practice guidelines and documentation to ensure patients receive the right level of care.
  • May be responsible for compiling daily or monthly reports.
  • Act as a patient and healthcare advocate by maintaining a safe environment and promoting quality healthcare and services.
  • Respect and maintain privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
  • Adhere to standards of practice for professional nursing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Current Registered Nurse Texas License required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, Associate's degree in nursing, or diploma from an accredited nursing school.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certified preferred
