About The Position

MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center is looking for a Clinical RN Administrator/ House Supervisor for the Float Pool. We have the MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute (MGCI) at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center, which has technology not available anywhere else in the area, such as Halcyon™ treatment system and Zap-X®. We have a Level II Special Care Nursery and a strong neurosciences program, with MedStar Georgetown University Hospital neurologists and neurosurgeons available onsite. Please note: This is a varying Evening/ Night Shift opportunity.

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN License
• BSN Required
• 3-5 years progressive nursing experience in critical care or emergency medicine preferred
• 2-4 years acute care nursing in a hospital setting required
• 1-2 years in charge or supervisory role in a hospital setting required

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise clinical and administrative resources to ensure the provision of holistic, culturally competent, quality, safe, and cost-effective evidence-based nursing care for patients and families.
• Assume leadership authority and responsibility during a specific shift for designated patient care units/departments or the hospital at large.
• Collaborate with members of the Nursing Leadership team and other administrators/leaders within the hospital.
• Maintain adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards, and MedStar Health's policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate leadership and behaviors consistent with MedStar's mission, vision, goals, SPIRIT Values, patient care philosophy, and sound moral and ethical judgement.
