The Pediatric Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) supports pediatric populations through the post-surgery phase as they await their hospital release and safe return home. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills. This is a full-time role. A caregiver in this position works 9:00am to 7:30pm, with rotating weekend and weekend on-call requirements.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Minimum one year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting required for acute care settings OR military RN experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon or within one year of hire

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Prior experience in acute critical care setting with peds patient population

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.
