About The Position

The purpose of this position is to harness the skills of an experienced RN Hospital who recently retired but has a desire to leverage their extensive knowledge, while supporting the nursing care team by alleviating administrative task-based responsibilities to enhance patient care delivery. Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. The purpose of this position is to harness the skills of an experienced RN Hospital who recently retired but has a desire to leverage their extensive knowledge, while supporting the nursing care team by alleviating administrative task-based responsibilities to enhance patient care delivery. The RN will provide direct nursing care in accordance with established healthcare organization policies, procedures, and protocol in numerous units, departments and/or locations. A caregiver in this position works variable shifts (4, 6, 8, 12 hour shifts)

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Three years of experience in an RN Hospital position at the Cleveland Clinic immediately prior to retirement
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Provide coaching, teaching, and educational material as appropriate.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ admission planning, discharge planning and educational needs.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Evaluate, update and revise plans of care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
