New ICU/IMCU Educator. Role includes: Partner closely with the Kaiser Permanente Washington Nursing Clinical & Practice Development team, collaborating with educators across specialties, including nurse informaticists. Support the development of the training framework and educational plans for the new ICU launching at Central Hospital. Work directly with clinical staff to assess and maintain competencies, coordinate annual required education, and promote professional development at all levels. Collaborate with hospital leadership to enhance, sustain, and monitor the delivery of high-quality, safe patient care. Exercise autonomy in daily responsibilities while working alongside a highly supportive and collaborative team. Leverage robust resources from KP National and all KP markets to elevate education, standards, and practice. Serve as a subject matter expert for critical care standards, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Monitor and analyze performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and guide targeted education. Provide real-time bedside education, troubleshooting, and clinical coaching to support safe and effective practice. Lead onboarding and orientation of new hires. Ensure consistent adherence to evidence-based bundles, safety protocols, and practice guidelines. Plan, develop, and facilitate simulation-based education, including mock codes, rapid response scenarios, airway management simulations, and training for high-risk/low-volume skills. Job Summary: Will be responsible for education program design, development, implementation and delivery to support knowledge and skills across the continuum of care. Develops training to support key initiatives in quality/redesign/practice improvement/internalization of services. Accountable for orientation of new hires as well as ongoing orientation and training of staff. Supports implementation of strategies to recruit and retain staff. Provides consultation and leadership to clinical teams in the orientation, training and selection of new employees. In collaboration with leadership implements strategies to achieve, monitor, and evaluate nursing care delivery programs and support delivery system workforce planning initiatives. Supports clinical operations managers and other leaders in achieving desired performance of clinical support staff. Willingness to frequently travel is a must.
