About The Position

RN Hospice Nurse – Lower Florida Keys (Field Position) Location: Marathon, FL Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off (Monday–Sunday rotation) Travel: Daily travel to Lower Keys facilities and surrounding territory About Us: Amedisys Hospice Care is seeking a dedicated RN Hospice Nurse to join our exceptional team in Marathon, FL, serving the Lower Florida Keys. This is a field-based position requiring daily travel throughout the Lower Keys territory. Candidates must currently reside in the Lower Keys to be considered. Salary Range: $87,000–$90,000 annually, plus bonus opportunities. Final compensation may vary based on experience and skills. On average our orientation for an RN is 7-9 weeks, however is individualized according to your needs and experience. Requirements

  • Current RN license in the state(s) where you will work
  • Minimum 2 years of strong clinical RN experience in an acute healthcare setting (Required)
  • Current CPR certification
  • Must live in the Lower Keys to be considered for this opportunity.

  • HCHB experience and/or acute care nursing roles a HUGE plus!
  • Hospice or home health experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable with daily travel between facilities
  • Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems

Responsibilities

  • Performs initial nursing assessment on new admissions.
  • Completes, coordinates and revises the total plan of care and maintains continuity of patient care by collaborating with appropriate staff.
  • Regularly communicates patient progress to the clinical manager, physician and care team.
  • Develops, prepares, and maintains individualized patient care progress records with accuracy, timeliness and according to care center policies.
  • Records pain/symptom management changes/outcomes as appropriate.
  • Educates families on patient condition, needs and care.
  • Makes referrals to other hospice care disciplines as needed, or documents rationale for not doing so.
  • Performs on-call responsibilities and on-call services to patients/families as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
