As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Electrophysiology Laboratory, you will blend the duties of an OR/procedural nurse and a floor nurse. The Electrophysiology Lab specializes in the treatment of patients with cardiac rhythm disorders. Typical procedures include pacemaker/ICD implantation as well as ablation of cardiac arrhythmias, and more. Our RNs work closely with physicians and the anesthesia team to care for all patients. We use cutting-edge technology, including a new hybrid operating room to accommodate the intricate cases we see. This is an exciting time to join our growing department as we expand our services and open a new Electrophysiology Lab. A caregiver in this position works 7:00am - 5:00pm, with no on-call, weekend, or holiday requirements!
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or willing to obtain with six months of employment
- One year of recent experience as an RN
Nice To Haves
- Two years of recent experience as an RN
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in a variety of healthcare settings.
- Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
- Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
- Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
- Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
- Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
- Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
- Educate patients and families.
- Cover other nursing roles in the department.
