Fairview Hospital Heart Center’s major diagnostic services are centralized in the Rini Cardiac Diagnostic Center where procedures performed use advanced electronic equipment, allowing caregivers to assess the cardiovascular system’s structure and functioning and detect conditions that might require additional testing, medical treatment or surgical intervention. As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Cath Lab, you will provide professional nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization. A caregiver in this position works 7:00am – 5:30pm with on-call requirements.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • One year of recent experience as an RN.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of recent experience as an RN.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in various healthcare settings.
  • Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
  • Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
  • Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
  • Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
  • Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
  • Educate patients and families.
  • Cover other nursing roles in the department.
