Country Manor's Home Health team is now hiring a RN visit nurse to join their award-winning team in the Brainerd Lakes area! This is an on-call position with flexible shifts!

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a practical nursing education program approved by the State Board of Nursing.
  • Current LPN licensure in the State of Minnesota.
  • CPR certification and First Aide training.
  • Must be able and willing to assume responsibility for client care and safety.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and carry out assigned duties and tasks.
  • Must be able to work with others in a cooperative, considerate and helpful manner.
  • Must have knowledge and competence in nursing and in area of home health care.
  • Must be willing to conform to and follow the established homecare policies and procedures.
  • Be able to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Be in good physical and mental health; able to meet Physical Job Demands
  • Be skilled in oral and written communication.
  • Able to read and write in English
  • Have a visual and aural acuity to detect changes in client conditions
  • Be aware of regulations regarding home health care.
  • Display patience, consideration and tact when dealing with client, family, and community contacts.
  • Be willing to update nursing knowledge
  • Be willing to seek advice of RN when indicated.
  • Have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing services in accordance with the physician’s approved plan of treatment.
  • Set up medications and treatments as ordered.
  • Prepare nurses and communication notes.
  • Participate in the review of client’s plan of treatment as requested by the physician supervising registered nurse.
  • Assist with physician and/or registered nurse in performing specialized procedures.
  • Prepare equipment and materials for treatments, observing aseptic techniques as required.
  • Assist with client in learning appropriate self-care techniques.
  • Inform the physician or supervising RN of changes in client’s condition and needs.
  • Participate in in-service programs
  • Receive and process telephone orders.
  • Responsible for giving direction and oversight of HHA and Homemakers
  • Give explanation and education to HHA regarding client care and treatments.
  • Offer input in evaluation of the HHA.
  • Promote a physical, social, psychological and safe environment, which will be conducive to the best interest and welfare of the client.
  • Answer client and family questions and concerns appropriately.
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for own nursing judgment and actions.
  • Draw blood, collect other specimens as ordered.
  • Transport to lab if necessary.
  • Completion of all necessary paperwork (defined by agency practice) prior to going home for the day
  • Length of shifts will be determined by client need, weather, nursing availability, and supervisor
  • Coordinate pharmacy and Home Health Care clients
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Collaborate with other licensed staff
  • Coordinate with therapy staff and provide management of client care plans as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
