About The Position

The Registered Nurse assigned to the Clinical Float Pool receives $7.50/hour float pool premium. Virginia Mason Medical Center, was recognized among the Best Hospitals in Washington state by U.S. News & World Report. The registered nurse in the High Acuity Float Pool is prepared and available to work on multiple inpatient units (ICU & ED) when deemed necessary. The Float Pool is an opportunity for RNs to widen their scope of practice, develop additional skills and broad their knowledge base. RNs in the Float Pool must be competent to perform independently in at least three units and have at least one year of relevant hospital experience. RNs hired into the Float Pool shall become proficient in Telemetry within six months of hire. This position is per diem and requires the RN to work (2) 12 hour shifts per month. Requirements

  • A current and valid Washington State Registered Nurse License is required for this position.
  • CPR certification is required every two years
  • One year relevant hospital nursing experience (ICU or ED/Tele progressive care)
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
