About The Position

Provide professional nursing care according to ANA Standards of Nursing Practice in conformance with recognized nursing techniques and procedures, established standards and administrative policies.

Requirements

  • State of TN or multi-state license as a Registered Nurse.
  • Must possess a current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications (p.o., M, Subq); manage all types of IV's effectively (central lines PICC lines); perform special care tasks and treatments such as catheterization (foley) G tube insertions; tube care and suction; operations of special beds; dressing changes as ordered per policy and procedure.
  • Operate necessary equipment properly to carry out physician's orders.
  • Identify basic physical and psychological needs and plan appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Process medical and nursing orders according to Trezevant's policies and procedures.
  • Intervene according to facility policy and procedure in emergency or life-threatening situations.
  • Report timely with pertinent data in a concise manner between outgoing and incoming shifts.
  • Independently accountable for own actions - Requiring minimal supervision.
  • Supervise ancillary nursing staff effectively.
  • Collaborate with other members of health care team to promote quality resident care and assume responsibility for the care given under their direct supervision.
  • Demonstrate knowledge, communication skills and values needed for effective teamwork.
  • Plan appropriate nursing intervention; Should demonstrate diplomacy and caring skills in communicating with residents, family members and staff.
  • Charting in a timely and cohesive manner.
  • Chart significant and meaningful observations of the residents reflecting nursing process in the delivery of resident care.
  • Assess and identify resident problems, symptoms, and behavioral changes.
  • Organize nursing care and daily routine efficiently for assigned unit.
  • Confer with physicians and other health care professionals as needed to promote quality resident care.
  • Use of understanding, patience, and tact in dealing with residents and their families; Always apply effective communication skills.
  • Attend 12 in-service programs yearly to maintain competency expectations.
  • Knowledgeable of Trezevant's Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Report to work on time, as scheduled as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
