About The Position

Provide professional nursing care according to ANA Standards of Nursing Practice in conformance with recognized nursing techniques and procedures, established standards and administrative policies.

Requirements

State of TN or multi-state license as a Registered Nurse.
Must possess a current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

Administer medications (p.o., M, Subq); manage all types of IV's effectively (central lines PICC lines); perform special care tasks and treatments such as catheterization (foley) G tube insertions; tube care and suction; operations of special beds; dressing changes as ordered per policy and procedure.
Operate necessary equipment properly to carry out physician's orders.
Identify basic physical and psychological needs and plan appropriate nursing interventions.
Process medical and nursing orders according to Trezevant's policies and procedures.
Intervene according to facility policy and procedure in emergency or life-threatening situations.
Report timely with pertinent data in a concise manner between outgoing and incoming shifts.
Independently accountable for own actions - Requiring minimal supervision.
Supervise ancillary nursing staff effectively.
Collaborate with other members of health care team to promote quality resident care and assume responsibility for the care given under their direct supervision.
Demonstrate knowledge, communication skills and values needed for effective teamwork.
Plan appropriate nursing intervention; Should demonstrate diplomacy and caring skills in communicating with residents, family members and staff.
Charting in a timely and cohesive manner.
Chart significant and meaningful observations of the residents reflecting nursing process in the delivery of resident care.
Assess and identify resident problems, symptoms, and behavioral changes.
Organize nursing care and daily routine efficiently for assigned unit.
Confer with physicians and other health care professionals as needed to promote quality resident care.
Use of understanding, patience, and tact in dealing with residents and their families; Always apply effective communication skills.
Attend 12 in-service programs yearly to maintain competency expectations.

Report to work on time, as scheduled as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
