The General Medicine unit at United Hospital cares for a wide variety of patient populations who require medical interventions and psychosocial support. This unit opened in 2022 and has 39 beds. The unit is committed to building an engaged healthcare team that is devoted to patient care and to one another. They enthusiastically welcome new graduates and experienced professionals. The General Medicine unit has been recognized for their clinical successes related to CAUTI, CLABSI and Hand Hygiene. The unit's manager has been at United for 35+ years and fosters an incredible and supportive culture. Nursing is the assessment and treatment of human response to actual or potential health problems. This includes establishing an intentional therapeutic relationship between a registered nurse and a patient and family. As a leader and the integrator of care, the professional nurse has the responsibility, authority, and accountability for planning, coordinating and evaluating the patient’s care needs. Practices primarily on hospital units and care for patients that are acutely ill across a wide variety of medical issues and support recovery from surgery.
