About The Position

EvergreenHealth is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Nurse to join our Family Maternity Center. This position is self-scheduling and involves providing total direct nursing care to patients within established standards of care, hospital and unit policies, procedures, and guidelines. Registered Nurses on the Family Maternity Center (FMC) are responsible for assessing the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients, coordinating patient and family education, and continuously planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The position requires effective communication with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality care and exceptional outcomes.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a nursing program (Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required)
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Washington
  • Minimum one (1) year of current labor & delivery RN experience
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire
  • NRP certification within 4-weeks of hire

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care and functions as a patient advocate.
  • Assesses the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
  • Coordinates the patient and family/significant other education process.
  • Continuously plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, incorporating patient and family/significant other into the process.
  • Participates with physician partners and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient and family/significant other plan of care.
  • Communicates effectively all relevant information to immediate supervisor in a timely way.
  • Documents changes in patient condition to charge nurse/supervisor and physician in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
