The Cardiovascular ICU's specialize in the post-operative acute care of patients requiring heart surgery, open and endovascular thoraco and abdominal aneurysm repairs, as well thoracic and other vascular surgical procedures. All post-operative patients come directly from the operating room and are recovered, stabilized, weaned and extubated in these units. The RN Float will be part of the CVICU Float Pool and will interact closely with CT nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel. In this role, you will care for a diverse population of patients across various critical care settings, gaining valuable experience while supporting units in need. This position offers a dynamic environment with opportunities for collaboration and professional growth.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- One year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider military RN experience

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
