The J7-2 Cardiology Stepdown Unit provides medical services for populations managing angina and/or myocardial infarctions, heart failure and arrhythmias. In the HVTI Stepdown Float Pool, you will work with diverse populations of cardiac, vascular and thoracic patients in numerous stepdown units while learning from many of our best caregivers.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN Program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• One year of current acute care RN experience.
• Will consider military RN experience.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
• Experience in HVTI stepdown care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.
