About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Cardiac Services Director, the Float RN provides staff coverage for Marshall Medical Center’s Congestive Heart Active Telephone Triage (CHATT), Cardiac Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs as needed. For the CHATT program, provides phone education, support and clinical follow-up to patients with congestive heart failure. For the Cardiac Rehabilitation program, conducts exercise sessions for monitored and non-monitored cardiac patients. For the Pulmonary Rehabilitation program, conducts exercise sessions for patients with chronic pulmonary disease. In addition this position participates in patient/family education of program enrollees.

Requirements

  • Current State of California Registered Nursing License required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Minimum of three years current, acute cardiovascular critical care experience required.
  • Experience where leadership, integrity, initiative and effective communication skills have been demonstrated.
  • Basic computer skills including word processing, order entry, database management required.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and delegate work as appropriate.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, telephone and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related healthcare field or equivalent education/experience preferred.
