About The Position

Primary Responsibilities/Requirements: Perform general nursing duties Identifies patient needs and priorities for care through assessment Plans and delegates care based on patient needs Execute therapeutic physician orders and therapeutic nursing interventions Evaluate the patient's response to care and the attainment of or progress toward expected outcomes Collaborates with the surgeon in performing a safe operation with optimal outcomes for the patient Practices under the supervision and direction of the surgeon during all surgical procedures Does not concurrently function as a scrub nurse Demonstrates accountability by staying informed of current changes in practice, new equipment, and quality initiatives

Requirements

  • Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing required
  • Proof of successful completion of an organized program of study on RN First Assisting, including clinical practice which has been accepted by CBPN (Certification Board Perioperative Nursing)
  • This course of study must follow the format of the “Core Curriculum for the RN First Assistant” published by AORN.
  • Must also possess: Ability to work under pressure and meet deadline
  • Outstanding organizational, verbal and writing skills
  • Independent and highly motivated
  • Initiative and self-discipline
  • Proven positive, "teamwork" attitude in work history
  • Must be able to use arms, hands, and fingers skillfully
  • Constant standing and walking
  • Must be agile and able to work efficiently in space limited areas
  • Constantly work at a productive pace
  • Must readily adapt to frequent treatment schedule changes
  • Lifting/Carrying/Pushing/Pulling up to 50 lbs
