About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) - First Assist Full-Time position located at Corona Regional Medical Center in Corona, CA. Under the direct supervision of the surgeon, provides the surgical team with assistance within the Operating Room and other similar settings. Through this skill development, attains proficiency in assisting the surgeon with specific intraoperative procedures that are beyond the scope of practice for registered nurses without RNFA education and training. Applies knowledge, skill, and judgment necessary to assist the surgeon in performing a safe operation that yields optimal results for the patient. Functions within the state laws regarding surgical assisting and state nursing practice act.

Requirements

• Must be a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor's degree.
• Currently licensed to practice in the State of CA.
• Current OR certification [CNOR] from the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN).
• Must maintain currency with CNOR and attain CRNFA or RNAS-C within 2 years for ongoing employment.
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• NRP if working in obstetrical areas.
