About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) - First Assist position is a part-time role located at Corona Regional Medical Center in Corona, CA. Under the direct supervision of the surgeon, the RN provides assistance to the surgical team within the Operating Room and similar settings. This role involves skill development to attain proficiency in assisting the surgeon with specific intraoperative procedures that are beyond the scope of practice for registered nurses without RNFA education and training. The RN applies knowledge, skill, and judgment necessary to assist the surgeon in performing safe operations that yield optimal results for patients, functioning within state laws regarding surgical assisting and the state nursing practice act.

Requirements

• Must be a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s degree.
• Currently licensed to practice in the State of CA.
• Current OR certification [CNOR] from the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN).
• Must maintain currency with CNOR and attain CRNFA or RNAS-C within 2 years for ongoing employment.
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• NRP certification if working in obstetrical areas.
