About The Position

Provides direct patient care in an area designated as a specialty unit in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Opportunities available in the following areas: Interventional Radiology, Oncology, Emergency Room, ICU, Renal Transplant, Hemodialysis, NICU, Pediatric Operating Room, Pediatric Recovery Room and Pediatric Emergency Room. Positions require: One (1) year of acute independent nursing practice experience and a valid BLS and ACLS (for adults), from either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross. Two (2) year commitment as a Full-Time employee with the Memorial Healthcare System required. A $10K Bonus Upon Program Completion will be paid out in two (2) equal installments for the following eligible areas: Emergency Room, Oncology, Pediatric Emergency Room, Pediatric Operating Room.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of acute independent nursing practice experience
  • Valid BLS and ACLS (for adults), from either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
  • Two (2) year commitment as a Full-Time employee with the Memorial Healthcare System required

  • Requires critical thinking skills, effective communications skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • RN Fellowship Program requires one (1) year of RN independent practice not inclusive of nurse orientation.
  • RN Fellowship specialties require ACLS and BLS Certifications.
  • Newly licensed RNs have six (6) months to obtain ACLS and, or PALS.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
  • Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
  • May precept student nurses and new hires.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including disposition, referral, and spiritual and, or psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of the patient and, or family and provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
