About The Position

Responsible for maintaining a line of communication between individuals in the waiting room and in the clinical areas with the Heart Institute. Provides compassionate support and crisis management in trauma situations for families and patients. Works as part of an integrated unit supporting all clinical area within the Heart Center to provide support for patients and families. Provides operational support where needed. Serves as liaison between physicians, patients, and families.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with the ability to multi-task.
• Must be able to operate communication systems appropriately (telephones, fax machines, copiers, etc.).
• Must complete required CEUs and maintain all cardiology related licenses and certifications.
• Must be able to establish priorities and follow up in problem solving including the ability to adapt to an often stressful and rapidly changing environment.
• Absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient records.

Nice To Haves

• Associates degree or certification with strong knowledge of cardiologic procedures.
• Prior cardiology experience preferred.
