About The Position

It’s Time to Get Better! Piedmont Eastside Medical is 310- bed multi-campus facility, serving Gwinnett and surrounding counties. The Family Care Center which provides couplet care are making a difference in every life they touch. This 17- bed unit focuses on post-partum care, monitoring, and education. -Education and Support The unit offers lactation consult support, educating mother on breastfeeding techniques, newborn care, and postpartum recovery. -Staffed with RNs, Charge Nurses, and PCTs that create a very compassionate and collaborative team. -Certifications- BLS is required. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is required within first 90 days for new Graduates.

Requirements

• Graduate from a nursing program Required
• New Graduates of a nursing program eligible Required
• RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. Required
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Required

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
• Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
• 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Required
• Mother/Baby- NRP by the end of orientation period

Responsibilities

• The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients.
• He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability.
• The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
