Build your Career. Make a Difference. Presbyterian is hiring a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Labor and Delivery team. We welcome applications from both new graduates and experienced RNs! New graduates have the opportunity to participate in our mandatory residency program, which includes monthly seminars led by the Nurse Residency Team, peer-to-peer debriefing sessions, support groups/mentoring, and rounding. Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
- BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire
Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assess, monitor, and manage the physical and emotional well-being of patients during labor, delivery, and recovery.
- Fetal Monitoring: Perform and interpret fetal heart rate monitoring and other diagnostic tests to ensure maternal and fetal health.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals during deliveries, including assisting with cesarean sections or emergency procedures.
- Provide care and education to new mothers on breastfeeding, infant care, and postpartum recovery.
- Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, and epidurals while monitoring for any adverse reactions.
- Respond quickly to obstetric emergencies, including hemorrhage, fetal distress, or neonatal complications.
