Where You’ll Work The Emergency Room is a 26 bed and Level III Trauma Center that treat minor injuries to complex trauma cases and the care team has the skills and expertise to help in any situation. We are designated as a Primary Stroke Center, a Pediatric Ready Hospital, and have the experts you know and trust. CHI Health St. Francis was established in Grand Island, Nebraska. in 1887. Job Summary and Responsibilities As an ER Nurse at St. Francis Medical Center, you’ll partner with an experienced clinical team to deliver stabilizing care to our patients by performing IV starts, foley catheter insertions, or aiding providers with chest tube insertions. To thrive as an ER nurse, you should exhibit teamwork, professionalism, critical thinking skills, and a willingness to take on additional projects such as patient experience initiatives. Use emergency triage protocol to intake, discharge or admit patients. Deliver stabilizing care to emergency patients of all ages as part of the larger ER team, adapting care to changes in patient’s condition as needed. Use knowledge of cultural differences to provide patient care that is sensitive to and consistent with cultural values, beliefs, and customs. Document the nursing care plan and changes in the patient's condition. Engage in other activities that will benefit patient outcomes, such as patient experience initiatives, mentoring, etc Incentives: up to $10,000 sign-on bonus, up to $10,000 education assistance (must have graduated within 5 years) Nurse Residency : offered for all New Graduates Job Requirements Graduate of an accredited nursing program Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state BLS (Basic Life Support) required NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) required within 3 months of hire ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required within 5 months of hire PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 5 months of hire NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required within 6 months of hire TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) required within 12 months of hire ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) required within 18 months of hire.
