About The Position

Join Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - Irving as a Registered Nurse and be part of something better! The position is in the Emergency Department, requiring 3 night shifts per week from 7 PM to 7 AM. The patient population includes all ages, acuities, and stages of life. Responsibilities include direct patient care and documentation for patients presenting to the ED with a variety of complaints, triage, and managing sections with higher acuity as well as Express care/fast track with lower acuity/clinic type patients. Staff will rotate to various areas based on experience and training. The patient ratios are 4:1, and the department has 55 beds. The department is currently seeking Level three Trauma designation, is a Primary Stroke Center, and a Primary Chest Pain Center, with a wonderful EMS partnership. Radiology services including CT and Sono are available within the ED. The position offers self-scheduling with voluntary on-call, and Certified Emergency Nurse fees are paid. Evidence-Based Practice and Process Improvement projects are ongoing, and trauma training is provided.

Requirements

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• 2 years of nursing experience.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN).
• Experience in trauma care.
