The Electrophysiology (EP) Lab Registered Nurse demonstrates excellent customer service performance and supports a work environment in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant HealthCare, and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation. The EP Lab RN uses the nursing process, develops a plan of nursing care and then coordinates and delivers care to patients undergoing EP, cardiac rhythm management (CRM) and structural heart procedures. EP Lab nurses have the requisite skills and knowledge to assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the outcomes of interventions. The EP Lab RN addresses the physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual responses of their patients. The EP Lab RN is concerned with patient safety as well as physiological and behavioral responses throughout the EP experience. The EP Lab RN works under the supervision of the Manager/Coordinator and Electrophysiologist. The EP Lab RN must possess excellent computer and organizational skills. The EP Lab RN is responsible and accountable for assisting the patient to move as rapidly, uneventfully, safely and effectively as possible through their procedure, identifying problems and potential problems, and reporting them to the physician. The EP Lab RN must be able to assess and care for adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups. The EP Lab RN performs other duties as assigned.
