General Summary The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who works with Anesthesia, physicians and other healthcare personnel, assisting with patient care before, during, and after procedure. The Registered nurse provides direct patient care to all patient populations. Is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluation of the nursing care given to patients undergoing Endoscopic procedures. The role is defined as the intra-operative period and will have contact with the patient in each phase of the experience. Communicates with gastroenterology, internal medicine, surgeons, and/or anesthesiology as needed about patient condition. Assists with maintaining equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards.
