Performs initial assessment utilizing professional nursing knowledge and skills. Appropriately assess for: a. physical & psychosocial emotional needs b. pain level c. barriers to learning d. educational learning needs e. discharge needs f. age related needs g. issues related to assault or abuse Analyzes patient related data, such as vital signs, past medical history, prenatal history, physical exam findings, laboratory values and other information, including age specific criteria, to determine appropriate care. Provides health education and teaching to patient, family and significant others, that is age specific, providing for any barriers to learning. Clearly communicates health, treatment and discharge information, ensuring the patient, family member or significant other understands all discharge and follow-up instructions. Demonstrates the use of advanced, specialized knowledge and skills to implement interventions for all emergency patients, by prioritizing needs, and using a patient centered approach. Demonstrates clinical skills, from IV's to pelvic exams within the scope of practice of the department.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year Emergency or critical care experience
  • Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing, upon hire
  • Bachelors Of Science Nursing, upon hire
