About the position
The RN position in the Emergency Department at Corewell Health involves providing professional nursing care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes patient-family centered care, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients. The RN will work under the direction of the Nurse Leader and is responsible for ensuring quality patient care while collaborating with patients and families to develop care plans.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care in the Emergency Department and Chest Pain/Observation Unit.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients.
- Incorporate patient-family centered care principles in all aspects of care.
- Document patient education and learning in health records appropriately.
- Collaborate with patients and families to develop individualized care plans.
Requirements
- Associates in Nursing upon hire required.
- Bachelors in Nursing within 5 years required.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) upon hire required.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days required.
- NIH Stroke Certification - NIHSS within 90 days required.
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year required.
- AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 1 year required.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 2 years required.
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
