About The Position

The Staff RN is a licensed professional care giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members.

Requirements

  • Current CA RN licensure
  • One year recent critical care or emergency department experience required (may consider training if current staff skillset and experience allows)
  • Working knowledge of basic dysrhythmia
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Verbal and written communication skills and computer skills required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
  • Advanced dysrhythmia interpretation

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other practitioners as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care
  • Monitors medical condition of patients and reports changes to appropriate personnel
  • Reports abnormal diagnostic data to physician/shift coordinator/supervisor as appropriate
  • Demonstrates ability to perform technical nursing procedures/skills of patient care competently, seeking assistance when appropriate
  • Implements patient histories, assesses patients' conditions, and develops individualized care plans for assigned patients.
  • Documents on care plans as patient care evolves, including resolution of problems
  • Assesses patient educational needs and barriers to learning.
  • Implements multidisciplinary patient education care plan and documents patient teaching
