About The Position

Medical City Decatur is seeking a Seasonal PRN RN for the Emergency Room, with shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $62 per hour plus differentials. The program runs from September 21, 2025, to April 4, 2026. The RN will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, promoting a safe environment, and ensuring effective pain management. The role includes teaching patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans, as well as documenting care in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact license required.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) required within 18 months of hire.
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Preferred: 1+ year of experience as an RN in the Emergency Department.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced specialty certification (e.g., Certified Emergency Nurse - CEN) encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and nursing staff.
  • Assess patient pain regularly and manage pain effectively.
  • Perform procedures and monitoring as ordered by medical providers.
  • Document care administration in the patient medical record promptly.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate patient needs.
  • Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up measures.
