About The Position

As a member of the interdisciplinary team, contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients and their families. Maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health with in the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers.

Requirements

• Diploma from an RN program.
• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.
• Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must possess and maintain ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Quickly assess patients upon arrival to determine the severity of patients' condition, prioritizing care based on urgency.
• Monitor vital signs, document symptoms, and initiate appropriate treatment protocols.
• Provide immediate care and treatment to patients experiencing acute medical conditions such as trauma, heart attacks, or respiratory distress.
• Administer medications, start IVs, provide wound care, and prepare patients for surgery or transfer.
• Work closely with doctors, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
