Martin North Hospital’s Emergency Department has multi-disciplinary care teams, and the leading-edge technology needed to diagnose and treat patients effectively, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Emergency Department is a great place for caregivers who want to work with diverse populations of patients and develop a wide skillset treating a variety of medical problems. This department is team-oriented and committed to supporting you as you discover, learn, and grow. The opportunities here are endless with a shared governance model, certifications and leadership growth into Charge Nurse and Assistant Nurse Manager roles. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM – 7:30AM.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department
• One year of current acute care RN or ED experience.
• Will consider military RN experience

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.
