About The Position

Baptist Louisville Emergency Department is a fast-paced ED that treats an average of more than 170 patients per day. It houses forty beds divided into five eight-bed pods, each staffed with one provider, two RNs, and one tech per pod, as well as an eight-bed 'fast track' area. Types of cases include acute cardiovascular and neurovascular emergencies, general medical emergencies, traumatic injuries, and psychiatric patients. We are recognized by the American Heart Association as both a STEMI receiving center and a Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center. The ages of those treated range from neonate to geriatric. An extensive orientation program allows the emergency nurse to work autonomously with a wide range of clinical specialties in treating the emergent patients and families. The ED fosters high levels of teamwork and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary group of professionals. New graduates with appropriate training and background are welcomed.
