About The Position

The position is for a nursing role in the Emergency Department at Allegheny General Hospital, which is a Level 1 Trauma Center. The department is currently undergoing expansion and renovation, with a projected completion date of November 2027, promising a brand new 48 bed ED equipped with cutting-edge technology. The ED served over 45,000 patients in 2024, averaging approximately 125 patients per day. The role involves assisting, conducting triage, and treating critically ill patients, with responsibilities based on the nursing process.

Requirements

• Minimum one year recent nursing experience in ICU, Emergency or Clinical Decision Units.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning skills.
• Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
• Professionally directs and manages the activities of the patient care delivery by the team members.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, including EMS, for the plan of care from presentation through disposition.
