About The Position
This position is located at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (NRV) and will support the Medical Care Unit. The RN Educator will identify staff orientation and educational needs, develop plans and education/in-services to address those needs, and collaborate with the CAPS and Nursing Quality teams to identify unit and organizational process improvements and/or patient outcome enhancements. The role involves developing, implementing, coordinating, and providing continuing education for the department, staff, patients, and families, as well as protocols to support standardization of care. The RN Educator will work in compliance with all State, Federal, and other regulatory requirements, serve as a resource and mentor to staff and team members, and act as a positive change agent. The position requires successful execution of initiatives in a timely manner while continuously assessing and evaluating processes and outcomes.
