About The Position

Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an RN Director of Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) for a permanent leadership opportunity in Margate, Florida. The RN Director of NICU directs and manages the operations and activities of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, overseeing daily operations to achieve quality improvement, fiscal responsibility, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals. This role is responsible for staff performance, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of high-quality neonatal care while serving as a clinical and operational liaison with physicians, families, and hospital leadership.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license for the position you are applying for.
  • Florida RN license or valid multistate compact license required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent (within the last 3 years) NICU Director experience in an acute care setting required.
  • Will consider strong Nurse Managers with 4–5 years of experience from a high-performing Level IV NICU.
  • MUST have direct, hands-on NICU clinical experience within the last 3 years (clinical practice required for this role).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of start.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 90 days of start.
  • STABLE certification required within 60 months of start.
  • Strong leadership, clinical expertise, and neonatal care management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage daily operations of the NICU to meet quality, safety, and patient satisfaction goals.
  • Oversee staff performance and ensure compliance with corporate, hospital, departmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Lead clinical operations while maintaining direct clinical NICU competency as required.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
  • Collaborate with physicians, leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to support optimal neonatal outcomes.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives, fiscal oversight, and strategic planning for the NICU.
