The major function of the radiology nurse is to deliver or provide a continued level of quality nursing care afforded the patients who will utilize the services of all the subdivisions of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging. The radiology nurse is an individual who holds the ultimate responsibility for the direct and indirect nursing care in the following areas: general diagnostic, minor specials, mammography, special imaging, nuclear imaging, ultrasound and CAT scan. The radiology nurse reports directly to the Nursing Department and to the Director of Diagnostic Imaging in respect to DI issues. The radiology nurse will work collaboratively with respect to the implementation of orders as they are related to direct patient care.
