About The Position

This is a Full Time, 12-Hour Night Shift, position located at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. We invite you to join our highly engaged team of Registered Nurses in the 72 Bed, Definitive Observation Unit (DOU) located in the Prebys Cardiovascular Institute on the Scripps Memorial La Jolla campus. Our DOU specializes in Cardiac Care (Intervention, Pre/Post Open Heart Surgery and LVADs). This is a fast paced unit with high turnover in patient population. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, engaged, resilient and someone that thrives in a challenging and ever-changing work environment. The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice. Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. The RN takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision. Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care. New Hire and Relocation Incentive eligible. Ask your Talent Advisor for details. Requirements

  • One (1) year of recent RN experience (6 months in an inpatient setting)
  • Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • California Registered Nurse License
  • Current American Heart Association BLS
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Previous Tele, PCU or Stepdown Experience
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS
