Indian River Hospital's Surgical ICU (SICU) specializing in medical services for populations recovering from post-operative complications. As an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to discharge. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed. This position provides the rewarding opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and float to other units in the hospital providing your comprehensive skills and expertise helping to ensure the best possible health outcomes. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
  • Experience working in an ICU setting

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
