About The Position

The position is for a Registered Nurse at Ochsner Health, responsible for leading patient care using the nursing process while adhering to the Nurse Practice Act and ANA Code for Nurses. The role involves delegating tasks, directing team members, and ensuring quality patient outcomes while being sensitive to cultural and religious diversity. The nurse will also engage in activities that support the strategic goals of the unit and department, demonstrating professional accountability and responsibility for their practice.

Requirements

• Registered nurse diploma required.
• Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Certification in clinical specialty area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
• Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of the patient, family, and other groups or disciplines.
• Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
• Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Embraces concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale and improvement in the profession of nursing.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and communication style.
• Performs other related duties as required.
