About The Position

The Critical Care Transport Nurse (CCTRN) is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care throughout all aspects of ground transport, including triage, assessment, and treatment while practicing in accordance with established policies and protocols under the direction of the Critical Care Transport Program Medical Director. In collaboration with their transport partner, the CCTRN evaluates the nature and extent of the patient's illness or injury, establishes and prioritizes care needs, and ensures the safe transfer of patients across the lifespan to appropriate facilities. Safety is maintained as the highest priority throughout the transport continuum. The CCTRN further supports the program through public relations activities, education of regional providers, quality reviews of transports, case study evaluations, and other initiatives that promote continuous improvement while strengthening community engagement. In addition, the CCTRN functions as a key member of an Emergency Medical Service crew performing 911 operations within the Arrow Ambulance program. Once the required clinical experience has been achieved, the CCTRN will be cross‑trained to flight as Medical Personnel in accordance with Air Methods' current policies and procedures. Upon completion of cross training, the CCTRN may be reassigned to flight based on operational and mission requirements.
