About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN), Float Pool is a professional practitioner who assesses, manages, directs, and provides nursing care activities during the patient’s hospital stay and coordinates care planning with other disciplines utilizing a patient/customer driven approach in a variety of Medical Surgical units. Must be highly energetic, flexible and motivated to support the success of Saint Louis University Hospital.

Requirements

• Licensed to work as an RN in the state of Missouri.
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive nursing assessment/reassessment.
• Establishes, coordinates and evaluates a plan of care based on analysis of assessment data.
• Provides and documents nursing interventions based on assessed patient needs.
• Documents and communicates nursing care and changes in patient condition.
• Provides specialized care to patients at high risk for injury.
• Demonstrates accountability for own professional practice.
• Ability to relate to coworkers in a professional and appropriate manner.
• Performs job in accordance with safety and infection control policies.
• Provides service excellence to the customers of Saint Louis University Hospital.
• Incorporates Performance Improvement and Evidenced Based Practice into individual professional practice.
• Provides age-appropriate care.
