About The Position

As the leading (and largest) free-standing psychiatric hospital in Georgia, Peachford is here to help. We are looking for Registered Nurses who have experience or an interest in Mental Health Nursing to help us on our mission to meet the needs of our community. Peachford has been a leader in behavioral health and addictive disease treatment since 1973. Our 246 bed hospital treats nearly 10,000 children, adults and seniors every year who come seeking the best psychiatric care available and we are looking for a master's prepared therapist that can provide services both in our Child and Adolescent Program - Next Time and in our Adult Services Program. We are looking for candidates who are dedicated and committed to providing the highest level of compassionate care. Our hospital is located on a 38 acre wooded campus in the Dunwoody neighborhood of North Atlanta and over 500 incredibly talented employees call us home. Our Crisis Stabilization Units have several staff nurse positions open on a variety of shifts and includes an additional ICU pay differential in addition to other incentives for working with this high acuity population. Charge Nurse roles are also available.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • State of Georgia or eCompact MultiState Nursing License.
  • Prefer one year of nursing experience.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Skills in case management and time management.
  • Knowledge of acute psychological disorders and advanced principles of abnormal psychology.
  • Familiarity with follow-up resource services available to patients.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to treat all age populations or develop skills through cross-training.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in mental health nursing.
  • Master's prepared therapist qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients in the Crisis Stabilization Units.
  • Consult with patients and advocate for their care.
  • Interact with individuals of all cognitive levels and various histories of trauma.
  • Verbally de-escalate agitated patients.
  • Maintain healthy boundaries with patients.
  • Support teamwork and collaboration among staff.
  • Follow rules and policies to ensure patient safety.
