This is a full time day shift working in the COU - Cardiac Observation Unit for Pre and Post Cath Lab patients at Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, AZ. Some weekend call is required Join a group of health care professionals highly dedicated to the positive outcomes of our cardiac patients. Northwest Medical Center provides RNs and clinicians with high acuity cardiac experience or critical care experience wanting to learn and expand skills! The registered nurse in the Cardiac Observation Unit provides a high level of care for the Cath Lab patients pre and post procedures. Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. The Cardiac Catheterization Department is composed of 3 catheterization labs as well as one hybrid room and Cardiac Observation Unit (COU) where our patients are prepped for procedures and recovered post procedure. Our team works with high risk, high acuity patients and pride ourselves in superb outcomes. Bedside procedures such as Trans esophageal Echocardiography (TEE) and Cardioversions (CV) are performed in COU. The Registered Nurse (RN) provides patient-centered care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality care based on established clinical protocols and physician/provider orders. The RN collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and desired outcomes, while maintaining a supportive and compassionate environment for patients and their families.
